How many people find their love online

This morning, another user told us that they found each other on 2RedBeans.  Shortly after, we found out yet another couple who met on 2RedBeans are getting married this summer.  We are so happy!

So, how many people find their love on line? Here is a excerpted survey that was recently published by Statistic Brian, and verified by Reuters, Herald News, PC World, Washington Post.

• 54Million -- Total number of single people in the U.S
• 40 Million -- Total number of people in the U.S. who have tried online dating
• $239  -- Average spent by dating site customer per year
• 18.5 Months -- Average length of courtship for marriages that met online
• 42 Months -- Average length of courtship for marriages that met offline
• 17 % -- Percent of marriages in the last year in which the couple met on a dating site
• 20% -- Percent of current committed relationships that began online

The Love Competition - 谁爱谁多一点？

Have you ever loved?  How much have you loved?  Modern science can measure how intense your love is by measuring the chemicals that's produced in your brian when you think of the one you love.  Very moving video.

Studies in neuroscience have involved chemicals that are present in the brain and might be involved when people experience love. These chemicals include: nerve growth factor, testosterone, estrogen, dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin, oxytocin, and vasopressin. Adequate brain levels of testosterone seem important for both human male and female sexual behavior. Dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin are more commonly found during the attraction phase of a relationship. Oxytocin and vasopressin seemed to be more closely linked to long term bonding and relationships characterized by strong attachments.

Dating Book Recommendations

Over the past 4 years, I have read many books on dating and relationships.  Here I'd like to share a few of my favorite that has benefitted my own life tremendously.   Enjoy!

Always Talk to Strangers: 3 Simple Steps to Finding the Love of Your Life  Excellent practical dating advice that works!  I have tried practice some of the things described in this book.  It makes you much more comfortable and natural when going on a date.  This book is on: Where to meet your potential date, how to start talking to them and how to leave a great impression. 

The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists

Sworn by lots of men as the best practical pick up book ever.  Although I do not subscribe to the philosophy behind it, it is a great book to help men who do not know how to effectively approach a woman to start on their game.  I'm recommending this book esp to women, for them to be able to tell genuine interests, v.s. some one who is just playing a game.

Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus: The Classic Guide to Understanding the Opposite Sex

Essential Manners for Men: What to Do, When to Do It, and Why 

Great book detailed basic manners for men.  What to do to leave the impression of a gentleman.  Toilet seat up for down?  :) 

The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love That LastsThis is the BEST relationship book that I have ever read.  I think this is a must read for everyone in order to maintain a ever lasting, loving, and romantic relationship.  This has been translated to over 36 languages, and sold over 5 million copies.  

"He sends you flowers when you really need is time to talk.  She give you a hug when what you really need is a home-cooked meal.  The problem isn't your love life, it's your love language!"
